The 2026 PBC Summer League is scheduled to begin the week of May 26, 2026 in several sites through out the area.

The tourney will be followed by the 2025 PBC Summer League Championships. The tournament is fully insured per PIAA rules and regulations for off season programming. Varsity league features an 8 game schedule with Junior Varsity League playing a 6 game schedule. A special 4 game “Rising Freshman” Tourney will also be held featuring Pool Play and a championship as well.

Varsity Leagues will be held at the following sites

• North Hills
• North Allegheny
• Cornell
• Sto-Rox Middle School
• Gateway
• M-7 Sports Complex

The PBC Junior Varsity Summer League will be held at North Allegheny High School and Ambridge High School. A special rising Freshman tourney will be held as well.  More information will follow under separate cover.

These leagues will culminate with championship games at the PBC Summer League Championships which will begin the week of June 22, 2026.

The Pittsburgh Basketball Club is very proud to announce the formation of the Davis-Bruce Award as the PBC Girls Players of the Year.

The award is named after legendary women’s players Jennifer Bruce(Scott) of Carrick High School and Pitt. Jennifer was one of Pitt’s all time best players and was honored by the University in their athletic Hall of Fame.

Shannon Davis played High School basketball at Sacred Heart High School where she was Western Pa’s first 3 Time Parade All American. A severe knee injury kept Shannon from playing collegiately

Both were prolific players in Western PA and truly represent the excellence of Girls Basketball in Western PA and the PBC is honored to name this award for both of these deserving PBC Hall of Fame members.

Congratulations to Gateway High School’s Mykel Bruce McCrommon as he was selected the 2025-26 Clancy Award winner as Western PA’s top forward (over 6-4)

The award is named after the great Sam Clancy. Long considered one of Western Pa’s top forwards, Sam was the anchor of the great Fifth Avenue and Brashear High School teams of the mid 70’s. As a great scorers and rebounder, Sam was considered one of the top players in not only the state of Pennsylvania, but the entire nation.

He was honored with All City and All State honors as well as a starting position on the Pennsylvania team in Sonny Vaccaro’s legendary Dapper Dan Roundball Classic. Sam was considered one of the top recruits in the nation.

Sam continued his basketball career at the University of Pittsburgh where under Coach Tim Grgurich, he was one of the top performers in the history of the Eastern 8 Conference. As a Senior, Sam led Pitt to the NCAA tournament second round, losing to eventual Final Four participant North Carolina. He was drafted in the 1981 NBA draft in the fourth round by the Phoenix Suns.

Mykel will be honored at the PBC Hall of Fame Brunch II on March 8, 2026 at Montour Heights Country Club.

Congratulations to Lincoln Park guard Josh Pratt for being named the 2025-26 Flenory Award winner as the WPIAL’s top guard.

The award is named for Western PA basketball legend Baron ‘BB” Flenory.

Josh will be honored at the PBC Hall of Fame Brunch II March 8, 2026 at Montour Heights Country Club.

Due to the large number of PBC Hall of Fame nominees that met ALL criteria for the Hall of Fame – We will honor all that have richly earned this distinction. To accomplish this- rather than ask anyone to wait a year-we will hold 2 Hall of Fame brunches this year- March 1 and March 8, 2026 at Montour Heights Country Club.

This allows us to properly honor and recognize all the great careers who have earned this distinction proper without having the event approach length that is somewhat unmanageable.

The 2025-26 PBC-BC Bantam Leagues are underway throughout the Airport and Beaver County areas.

The bantam league will culminate with the crowning of champions in Upper, and Lower divisions in grades 3 thru 6 in late February. Playoff information will be posted once venues have been verified.

The annual Pittsburgh High School Classic returns to the UPMC Arena on the campus of North Allegheny High School on January 25, 2026. Please come support the teams as we support the 2023 Hall of Fame Class. Tickets are only $10.00 for adults and $4.00 for students. ( no individual tickets will be sold)

The PBC kicks off its Hall of Fame festivities January 10, 2026 with the annual Legends Classic as the PBC returns to Ambridge High School! This year’s event features some great match ups to kick off the Hall of Fame season! 2 gyms will be in action this year!
