CLANCY TO RECEIVE BLANOCK COURAGE AWARD

The Pittsburgh Basketball Club is very proud to announce the winner of the 2021 Luke Blanock Courage Award is Sam Clancy.

Sam is one of Western Pa’s most decorated athletes on both the basketball court and football field. Sam is an inaugural member of the PBC Hall of Fame Legends Division and his friendship is cherished by many throughout Western PA.

This past year Sam took on his most difficult opponent… Cancer. And we are happy and relieved to say that Sam has staged a victorious battle and defeated this dreadful disease

Sam will be honored at the 2022 PBC Hall of Fame brunch on February 5, 2022 at Chartiers Country Club.

The Luke Blanock award was founded in 2016 for members of our basketball family who have staged a battle in a game far greater than a basketball game.

The award was appropriately named for Luke Blanock of Canon McMillan High School. Luke’s strength and perseverance while battling a rare form of cancer serves as an example to each and every one of us that life is to be lived to its fullest every day.
