Congratulations to Coach John Geiger and the Steel City Supreme AAU team. This team of rising 5th graders finished an amazing AAU Summer with a outstanding 56-6 record and an appearance in the AAU national tourney. Team members include

GPU WINS HOOP GROUP JAM FEST

Congratulations to Coach Keenan Holmes and the GPU class of 2019 AAU team for another outstanding summer on the AAU circuit. Playing a national schedule, the team won the prestigious Hoop Group Jam Fest in Spooky neck, PA as well as participating in a variety of elite Adidas Gauntlet events throughout the nation.

PBC ALUM JOHNSON-DUQUESNE’S CASTRO NAMED CO-MVP of 2016 PRO AM LEAGUE

Congratulations to PBC Alum and OLSH Grad Cameron Johnson for being named Co-MVP of the recently completed PBC Pro Am Summer League. Johnson averaged 27.3 PPG thru the league. Cameron played locally for Coach Mike Rodriguez at OLSH.

Rene Castro of Duquesne was named Co-MVP. Rene was the league’s leading scorer scoring an astounding 32.2 points per game leading his team to the 2016 Pro Am Championship.

CARSON MILLER WINS WOVCHKO AWARD AS SUMMER MVP

Congratulations to Canon Mac’s Carson Miller who we are proud to announce as the 2016 Wovchko Award winner as PBC Summer League Most Valuable Player. Carson led Canon Mac to an undefeated 8-0 mark in summer league play including a statement making 24 point performance against Allderdice in the championship game to lead canon Mac to its first PBC Summer League Championship.

Carson will be presented with the award at the 2017 Pittsburgh High School Classic during Hall of Fame weekend January 28/29, 2017 at Montour Athletic center. More details to follow.

 

CANON MAC WINS 1st PBC TITLE

Congratulations to Coach Rick Bell and the Canon Mac Big Macs for there 58-48 PBC Summer League Championship over a resilient Allderdice team in the 2016 PBC Summer League Championship game.

After many close calls, the titles is the 1st for Coach Bell and Canon Mac in the PBC Summer league. Congratulations to all at Canon Mac for finally capturing that elusive summer league title.

Hats off to Coach Buddy Valinsky and the Allderdice Dragons for a great summer league run to the championship game. The ‘Dice will reload and be right there in 16-17!

 

 

AMBRIDGE WINS 4A-A CHAMPIONSHIP

Congratulations to Coach Mark Jula and the Ambridge Bridgers for there 61-42 victory over Sto-Rox in the 2016 4A-A PBC Summer League Championship game.

The PBC title is the 2nd in the past 3 years for both Jula and Ambridge. Congratulations to the entire program on yet another Summer League Title. We are looking forward to seeing the team play in 2016-17.

FOX CHAPEL WINS JV TITLE

Congratulations to Fox Chapel JV, Zach Skrinjar and staff on winning the 2016 PBC JV Championship with a 61-53 victory over Seneca Valley.

The championship is the teams 1st PBC JV Championship in the league.

Congratulations to all the JV Teams that put in hard work throughout this years JV League. This league is so very important for the future of basketball in Western PA. The league was highly competitive and shows Fox Chapel a team to watch in the future.
